The Rooms of Memory

The exhibition is dedicated to L’Israel dei bambini (“Israel for Children”), the only comic series written in verse and illustrated by Emanuele (Lele) Luzzati between 1946 and 1952. As Corrado Vivanti wrote: “The first issue was published on 20 February 1949, and Lele became its leading illustrator, creating the covers for almost every issue. He also created The Adventures of Guz, the Chalutz Donkey, a comic strip told in rhyming captions, in the tradition of Il Corriere dei Piccoli.”
The exhibition features original comic strips, drawings and the animated film Jerusalem, created with Giulio Gianini in 1990, based on a text by writer Meir Shalev.
At Casa Luzzati from 17 January to 15 April 2023Free admission.
